It all began with a reading of the Preamble to the Constitution...

Preamble for the Indian Constitution
This is how it all started
The first iteration of The NAME project was Self and took place within Theatre Lab (Youth). The second iteration - The NAME Project: Family - took place on February 2nd, 2020 at Shoonya Centre for Arts and Somatic Practices in Bangalore. The third was in Mumbai. The fourth will be The NAME Project: Neighbours, the fifth- The NAME Project: Friends, the sixth - The NAME Project: Strangers and so on. A ripple effect.

The NAME Project is designed to have three components - a written, a performative and an open-source digital archive that can be aggregated. Anyone interested in taking The NAME Project to their communities can do so by writing to Zui Kumar-Reddy at zztop3847@gmail.com.

Thank you and here’s to diversity!

The NAME Project is an act of community, of empathy. Conceptualized by Zui Kumar-Reddy, it functions on a simple fulcrum. That if you ask people about their name - how they were named, what the name means, who named them, whether they like it - you may find a space of vulnerability.
